How do you play "Go Fish"?

My wife and I are teaching the 5yo how to play Go Fish. We both apparently had way different house rules. And the rules I find online are also different from our two childhood houses.
What are your rules for Go Fish?
Top Comment: How I've always know it: Seven cards to each player. One at a time, ask another player if they have a specific number of card. You must ask for a number you have. If the other player has it, they must give you all of that number of card they have. If you got cards, you can ask someone else for another number. If you don't get cards, player you asked says "Go Fish", and you draw one card from the remaining deck. Collect four of a kind, put it in front of you, that's one point. Continue until all possible sets are collected. The only variation I've ever known is a friend or two who thought that when asked for a number, you only have to give one, and if the active player wants to see if you have more of that number, they have to ask for it.

PSA: Fish don't go to postmaster

If you're like me and fish with one of the auto-fishing scripts, you'll need to pick up your fish. Dropped fish don't go to the postmaster, nor do they persist after you leave the instance.
Don't go AFK for a long time with the script running. You won't come home to a pile of fish. You'll come home to a lot of missing bait.

Last week's " Go big ( fish ) or go home " seasonal challenge is a great example of something being so boring…

I've done two GMs since last week, and not yet have I finished that stupid fucking seasonal. I'm at 9/15, and just cannot turn my brain off long enough to do this shit.
Bungie, I get you were trying to make something fun, but please do not make any more seasonal challenges more of a chore than my actual job.

I mean tbh I got that done first day cause I was just fishing for the exotic fish. Purples on Nessus are almost always heavy. For some reason the EDZ has overall fat fish so try there

Top Comment: For the legendary fishes - x8 and x5 exchange For fishing points - exchange all baits first then horse shoe, gem chest and dragon tickets I also took all wishing scrolls and legendary keys as well as the elite pact but they are probably not worth it I’d say the remaining chests including inheritance book chests and meteoric iron holds some value if you dont want to get the pulls. Lucky silver coins is too expensive for just 15 pulls imo
Where did my hatches go?
It's the lower farm in question.
My hatches have disappeared, it's the second time this happened.
The system is setup so when the number of hatches goes over 7 - both critters and eggs - we turn on the sweeper. It takes all the eggs and sends them on the conveyer. Counter lets through only one egg, the rest are placed back. This way we sent away only 1 egg and leave the rest inside to incubate. When the number goes over 7 again the counter is reset to 1 to let through only one egg and cycle repeats.
Conveyer loader accepts only eggs.
I don't know what's the issue, it has to be a bug. It's one thing to have system fail because of your design, but because of a bug?
Eh. Am I missing something?
The age of hatches also had to be stuggered because of the eggs inside incubating, so they couldn't go extinct all at once without leaving some eggs behind.
Top Comment: I think check your logic. At some point you will have 7 hatches. One will lay an egg this will turn on your sweeper and reset the counter. Eventually all your eggs will go away and the ranch will be empty. Also your automation wire is disabling the grooming station in the top ranch.
